# Email Triage - Philosophy
**I am the triage.** No rigid sender rules. Read, understand, decide.
## Principles
1. **Understand the message** - What is it? What action (if any) is needed?
2. **Use the dashboard** - Actionable items → task board, not Signal spam
3. **Apply context** - I know things (e.g., Mikhail leaving in a month)
4. **Archive the noise** - Shipping confirmations, receipts, newsletters
5. **Escalate the important** - Things that need Johan's decision or attention
## Context I Know
- **Mikhail (FiL)** - Has Mint Mobile plan, leaving in ~1 month, don't renew
- **Duke Energy** - On auto-pay, just archive
- **Amazon shipping** - Archive unless something looks wrong (lost, delayed)
- **Pool service (Beach Bros)** - Routine reports, archive
## When to Escalate (Signal)
- Urgent / time-sensitive that can't wait
- Requires Johan's explicit decision
- Something unexpected or concerning
## When to Use Dashboard
- Renewal reminders → task with context
- Bills that need review → task
- Appointments / scheduling → task
## When to Just Archive
- Shipping updates (delivered, shipped)
- Routine notifications
- Marketing / newsletters
- Receipts
---
*The goal: Johan's inbox stays at zero, important stuff surfaces, nothing falls through.*
